A staggered six-vertex model with non-compact continuum limit

چکیده
The antiferromagnetic critical point of the Potts model on the square lattice was identified by Baxter [1] as a staggered integrable six-vertex model. In this work, we investigate the integrable structure of this model. It enables us to derive some new properties, such as the Hamiltonian limit of the model, an equivalent vertex model, and the structure resulting from the Z2 symmetry. Using this material, we discuss the low-energy spectrum, and relate it to geometrical excitations. We also compute the critical exponents by solving the Bethe equations for a large lattice width N . The results confirm that the low-energy spectrum is a collection of continua with typical exponent gaps of order (logN).

We investigate the continuum limit of the rooted staggered action in the 2-dimensional Schwinger model. We match both the unrooted and rooted staggered determinants with an overlap fermion determinant of two (one) flavors and a local pure gauge effective action by fitting the coefficients of the effective action and the mass of the overlap operator. The residue of this fit measures the differen...

A simple technique for expanding the free energy of general six-vertex models about free-fermion points is introduced. This technique is used to verify a Coulomb gas prediction about the behavior of the leading singularity in the free energy of the staggered F-model at zero staggered field. 1 Definition of the staggered F-model The staggered F-model is a special case of the six-vertex model. Th...
متن کاملThe Influence of Boundary Conditions in the Six-Vertex Model
We discuss the influence of boundary conditions on the continuum limit of the sixvertex model by deriving a variational principle for the associated height function with arbitrary fixed boundary conditions. We discuss its consequences using the known phase diagram of the six-vertex model. In some particular cases we compute explicitly the corresponding partial differential equations by means of...
متن کاملNon Linear Integral Equation and Excited–states Scaling Functions in the Sine-gordon Model
The NLIE (the non-linear integral equation equivalent to the Bethe Ansatz equations for finite size) is generalized to excited states, that is states with holes and complex roots over the antiferromagnetic ground state. We consider the sine-Gordon/massive Thirring model (sG/mT) in a periodic box of length L using the light-cone approach, in which the sG/mT model is obtained as the continuum lim...
